Chrissy's challenge for this week is to make a Celebration card which I combined with the PCP color challenge using Kiwi, Choc. Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Creamy Caramel & Naturals Ivory or Vanilla. Sounds more like a dessert, doesn't it?I also made it to fit a challenge on SCS New Year's Eve Party.

Chrissy's Belli challenge 46

Chrissy's challenge this week is to use any of kind of wrapping paper on your card. Check out her blog for these weekly challenges that anyone can participate in. www.chrissyd723.blogspot.com They are posted on Wednesday's and there is usually a prize drawing.
I chose a paper that I used to wrap gifts for my mother and my aunt several years ago and always thought it so soft and pretty. I made a thank you card, trimmed in sheer pink ribbon, pink rhinestones and sponged with blush and metallic gold. I also used paper left from the design made on the Big Shot as a frame.

Vintage Look Lace Tree

I made this card at an SU stamp camp on Sunday on plain white cs. When the DT Monday challenge came in from SnSS to make a distressed or vintage look card, I took Sahara Sand ink and sponged it all over the card to give it a vintage look, then pulled the edges across the ink pad. I really like the finished look better than the white.

Granddaughter's first cards

These are a few of the Christmas cards my granddaughter Rebecca,15, made this afternoon. She had never done this before and I am really impressed with her designs. We had a good time working and sharing together, just like when she was a little girl when we spent so much time doing things together.
I have set up an album of her cards in my gallery on SCS.

SNSS DT Challenge #5

I am getting so behind in doing challenges, but managed to make a card for SNSS DT challenge this week which is to use Christmas paper on the card. I had originally hoped to combine it with PCP's sketch challenge but had to tweek it too much so that it won't qualify. Card stock and paper are SU, I used the Christmas Rub-ons, scallop punch, CM circle maker and a rhinestone in the snowflake center.

12Days-Day 10

I missed several days for this challenge, I'm back with Day 10 which called for making a card featuring a boy. I decided to use SNSS Forgetful Sam holding his letter to Santa. Sentiment, paper and ink SU, buttons are from Oriental Trading. Will try to get watercolor paper so that my color blending will look better.

Chrissy's Belli challenge-cracked glass

This week's challenge is using cracked glass. I had only done this once before and it was in a class last Spring. Here is what I came up with. All materials are SU. except for the CM Silver Shimmer paper. After I cracked the 'glass' I sponged silver ink on the image and wiped it off, but decided not to apply it to the poinsettia. I'm not happy with the cracking lines but like the glossy finish. You can find Chrissy's challenge on her blog Creating with Chrissy

Sandy's DT Monday challenge was to make a Get Well Tissue Holder. Mine is SU cs, silver elastic and Rub-ons, Basic Grey Euphoria dsp and a snowflake brad.

5 Golden Rings: Day 5

I attempted to make a card with 5 gold rings for today's challenge. I used white cs with the red, but now wish I had used only the red with the gold ink. Thanks for looking. SU stamps, cs and cord, Encore Gold Metallic ink, Gold Stickles.

12 Days: Day 4

My card Songbird Birthday is for today's challenge to use birds and/or 'calling' My birds are singing to each other. I chose shades of blue, striped dsp and white for my card. Paper, ink and ribbon are SU. Also used Dew Drops and Martha Stewart floral edge punch.

Day 3 of 12 Days Challenge

Posting this morning because we lost power last night right after I posted this on PCP. The challenge was to use a chicken, rooster or owl, none of which I had. I borrowed from DD and decided to combine this with Ashley Bowen's color challenge 11/29 and Kim Burmeister's sketch 11/29.

Day 2 of 12 Days Challenge

Today's challenge is to use a dove or turtle on the card. I chose SU Wishing You for this card, combined it with SU cs and Basic Grey's Wassail collection I purchased for SweetnSassy Stamps. Thanks for looking!

PCP's 12 Days of Christmas challenge

Day 1's challenge was to make a card with a bird or tree in it. I chose SU's Cardinal Christmas using CM Silver Shimmer paper, SU Handsome Hunter and Real Red cs. I used Stickles in Holly, Red and Chrystal to accent the image. Thanks for looking!

Sweet'nSassy Blog Hop Challenge is to create a Christmas card, using colors not normally used for Christmas cards. I chose Kiwi Kiss and Really Rust that went with a dsp with a yellow green dove on it. I chose a verse from SNSS Christmas Scripture for the sentiment. This definitely was outside the box for me.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

A heart full of graditude and thanksgiving for all that God has given me. May you all be truly blessed!

The background for this card was made with reinkers and alcohol on glossy white paper. I really like the leather look it took on. Thanks for looking.

Give a moose a muffin!

I am finally catching up on the challenges from SCS and the PCP color challenge for this week! First, the color challenge is to use Kiwi Kiss, Ellegant Eggplant, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla and Creamy Caramel! Lots of colors in this one for sure! I am getting low on card stock so I had to figure out how I was going to work them all in. I went back to check the SCS weekly challenges and The Fan Club Interactive challenges from the Dirty Dozen and tried to figure out something. I had been thinking about this month's challenge of Chick Lit and Jenn said we could use any books as inspiration. Well, children's literature is right up my alley and a favorite book of mine and the grands is "If you give a Moose a Muffin...." by Laura Neumeroff. I pulled out my Hanna Stamps- Riley stamp and started my card! Riley loves muffins, cocoa and cupcakes so that was my theme. I used Carol Burrage's sketch, the Ways to Use challenge which is to use pearls , pearl paint etc. (mine are on top of the cupcakes and in the cocoa) and the Limited supplies challenge to incorperate chocolate with the Fan Club book theme. That was easy with the cocoa. I don't have any stamps that are mugs or cups so I drew it freehand and it does look like a cup which amazes me! For the background I used my new CB Snowflakes folder.

Thanks for taking a look and reading my blog. Cocoa sound good about now? It does to me on this very cold November evening. Stay warm!

Give thanks!

Today is 'catch-up' day for some of the challenges from the week. Sweet'nSassy challenges includes a sketch from Courtney see her blog www.createdbycourtney.blogspot.com and a challenge by Chrissy to use cord of any kind in your card. I opted to combine both with Chrissy's bloggers challenge of a Thanksgiving theme even though I am not a member of this group. See Chrissy's blog www.chrissyd723.blogspot.com

PCP Sketch challenge 111508

This week's sketch challenge on Paper Craft Planet was designed by Wendy P. I chose to make a Christmas card using SU Cranberry Crisp

SNSS DT Challenge #3

This is my entry for Monday's Design Team Challenge to make a card with 'ONE' That is 1 base card layer, 1 image layer, 1 sentiment which I divided so I have wording on top and bottom, and 1 embellishment. Thanks Janette for this challenge. I combined it with this weeks SCS color challenge of Real Red, Basic Black and Kraft or Creamy Caramel. This is the first time I have tried to create a scene like this and yes I used lots of Dazzling Daimonds. I have them all over the dining room table and me of course. One thing I forgot was to WAIT until the Stickles dried completely before putting the card together. Next time!!!

Thanks for looking at my card and a special Thank You to Korin Sutherland for the wonderful stamp set Winter Fun!

bsgstamps4fun.blogspot.com

Welcome to my blog!

This is a new world for me! Who would have imagined me posting on my own tiny blog. OK friends, now I need you to guide me along this highway. Suggestions of a constructive nature are definitely welcome.

First I should thank all the wonderful friends I have made on SCS, SNSS and now PCP. You can't know how much you have enriched my life.

A few things I need to add to my blog etc. is a photo of myself, some of my cards and links to challenges that I enter. As far as the photo goes, don't hold your breath, I don't like any of my pics and will hope for a good hair day and someone to take a digital pic of me!

Just in case anyone reads this, have a blessed day. Remember that you can make it a great day with a smile
