Cupcake Craft Challenge#33
This week's challenge is a sketch and a fond farewell to Ceal who will retire from the DT with this challenge. Ceal this one is for you. You sparked my interest in Cupcake Craft Challenge and I have tried to participate whenever I'm able. My card is a 5 1/2 " square, something I rarely make. I used an Easter egg stamp I bought at a local stamp store shortly after Easter last year before they went out of business. The stamp was made by Holly Berry House. I had originally planned to color it in, but decided to leave it white after embossing it in gold. I accented with gold Dew Drops for balance. My cs is SU Lavender Lace with SU dsp. The circle is a coordinating stripe that I stamped with SU flower in Lavender Lace. The ribbon is from Michael's as is the striped paper.

Weekend cards
As a new SU Demo I get to go with my upline to her upline's monthly meeting which is a Shoebox Swap. Not having a lot of bulk colors, I had to go with Basic Black, Ruby Red and Whisper White. I chose my new SU set Playful Petals which has so many possiblities. I made a tri fold card, edged the larger front flap with the new Eyelet punch and made my own patterned paper by stamping the small flower all over the white. I stamped the large flower in black on the Ruby, cut it out and outlined in black marker. The smaller done the same way but accented in Ruby and adhered with a dimensional. With everything cut for 12, I'm all ready for Saturday and Denise loves it! I'm excited!
The 2nd is for SCS' limited supplies challenge for Friday to use only black and white, no colors! I used my Love and Happiness Rub-ons on the white cs, edged the black base with Dots CB border folder and trimmed the card with Dew Drops and black ribbon. Clean and simple!
Thank you for taking the time to look at these and let me know what you think. Blessings to all!

It's Spring!
April is on the doorstep and Spring's promise is in the air. Such a beautiful time of year with all the soft colors mixed with the vibrant shades of purple and red. My card reflects the soft side and while these are sparrows, I chose to make them bluebirds. My challenges are all from SweetnSassy Stamps: Korin's Friday sketch on PCP, Sandy's March challenge to use any shades of pink, yellow and green and the DT Monday challenge to use pink/brown(my choice) or pink/orange. The stamp is from Chris' "His Eye is on the Sparrow", unknown dsp, SU Close to Cocoa, cs and ink, watercolor paper, SU markers, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Creamy Caramel, Apricot Appeal,Certainly Celery, Mellow Moss and Bashful Blue. I also used White Gel pen for the dots and Stickles for sparkle! This card also qualifies for the SCS Limited Supplies challenge to celebrate the 1st day of Spring. Now if it would get a little warmer, I'd be so happy! Yes, I know it's still March, but I can dream! Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Inspiration challenge today and Cupcake color challenge
This past Monday's Cupcake Craft Challenge 31 was to use brown/blue, brown/pink or brown/green. I had in mind that I would choose blue and today before I finally got to making it, I saw the Inspiration Challenge on SCS to select something from "Little Daisy Design Shop" on Etsy. I chose a cute little sundress called 'Peonies are Pretty' done in blue, soft brown, and cream. The card design layout resembles Korin's sketch for PCP today, though it's a little different from hers. I chose to offset my main image before I saw her sketch. In hindsight, cutting the dsp at this angle would have been easier if I had used a square card. I cut out the sunflower and mounted it with dimensionals to make it stand out. I also covered the inside with dsp to hide the ribbon and added a few of the flower circles from the dsp along the left side to make a border leaving plenty of room for writing. My cs and dsp is SU as is the Rub-on sentiment. The stamp is Hero Arts Sunflower Blossom.

Lucky Me!
This week's Creative Belli Challenge is all about wheels! Over the weekend, I made this St. Paddy's Day card using SU's "Pinch Me" wheel and the stamps from "Pinch Proof", Handsome Hunter, Glorious Green and Whisper White cs and Glorious Green ink. Getting the wheel to come out showing these words was a learning experience as it isn't something I usually do. Fun and I like the results!

More Challenges!
This week's Creative Belli Challenge is to use Stephanie Meyer's "New Moon" book jacket for inspiration. I chose the colors of black, red & white, changed them to the SCS color challenge of black, Rose Red and Artichoke. The black filigree cut out is a scrap from Starbucks packaging and I sponged Rose Red ink on the white embossed paper, added Dew Drops and black ribbon on a silver slide for accent. The card stock, ink, stamp, ribbon & slide are SU. The sketch is by Tami Mayberry for SNS sketch challenge#6.

Ahhh! Spring!
This week's Cupcake Craft Challenge # 30 is a Spring theme! With that theme in mind, I chose SU's Serene Spring for the image and Best Yet for the sentiment. First time inked, I enjoyed coloring this stamp with it's promise of Spring. The paper is SU Sage Shadow, vanilla, watercolor and unknown patterned paper. SU markers for coloring with sheer silver ribbon and silver hardware. I'm ready for spring, are you?

Made for SNS Monday DT challenge for this week with a theme of Pastels. I chose these shades because they are my dear friend's favorite. Paper is SU Almost Amethyst, Whisper white, watercolor paper and unknown dsp. Ink is Almost Amethyst, Lovely Lilac and Mellow Moss with Stickles accenting. White organza ribbon, Martha Stewart lace edge punch, SU oval and Marvy scallop oval punches were also used.

Thyme, not on my fav list!
This past week's Creative Belli Challenge was to use a color that you don't like and don't use. SU's True Thyme which was an IN-COLOR in 2006 has to be a color I never use. I paired it with Marigold Morning from the same collection to brighten the palette. I used the same color inks with Sweetn'Sassy's Floral Flourishes stamp set for the image which I distessed with T.Thyme ink. Ribbon with a metal slide and epoxi stickers finish the card. Again, not what I was looking for but done. Thanks for looking.
