Three Challenges

This has been a week of no time to stamp. Thought I'd catch up with a few today, but nothing would come to me. However, I managed to come up with this idea for 3 challenges: Sweet'nSassy Monday DT challenge to use hearts, Courtney's Tuesday challenge colors (Real Red, Pink Passion & Choc. Chip), and Korin's Thursday sketch challenge for the SNS group on PCP. I tweaked the sketch a little but it is basically Korin's. The colors are as close as possible. Stamp set is SNS Love Blooms designed by Chris Dickinson, Ink is SU Real Red Marker & Forest Foliage ret., card stock is SU Choc. Chip. Real Red & Whisper White, designer paper is from Basic Grey's Bittersweet collection, ribbon (SU), CM heart punches, Martha Stewart lace edge punch and SU Dazzling Diamonds for accent. So maybe tomorrow I'll come up with some ideas for more challenges. Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday.
Blessings!

Chrissy's Belli challenge 52 1st anniversary

Congratulations to Chrissy and the Belli Challenge Design Team on their 1st Anniversary! Want to be part of the celebration challenge? All the details are on Chrissy's blog
My card follows the ingredients I chose to "bake a cake": chocolate=buttons(blue stars); cream cheese=chipboard(lg. & sm. stars); powdered sugar=embossing powder(words); nutmeg=markers(white dots); and milk=distressing(background stamp & sanding lg. star). These were an unusual lot of supplies to work with, but decided on a star themed birthday card for my oldest grandson, CJ. The sketch is Courtney's from last weeks CBCC22, SU cs, Paper Pizazz star paper, Stamps SNS Cool Dude & Distress background, white embossing powder, heat gun, white marker, blue/white metal buttons and red cord.
So hop on over, choose your ingredients from the list, then look up the corresponding supplies and come up with your CAKE to celebrate!
Happy Thursday to everyone!

Challenges met with Pomegranate Rose card

I was determined to get some challenges done before the next Belli challenge tomorrow. Yesterday, I made the background with re-inkers and alcohol, using Purely Pomegranate and Rose Romance. Love the way it blended and turned out! Anyway, got down to business this afternoon while it snows. I used Korin Sutherland's Paper Craft Planet Sweet'nSassy group sketch challenge for my sketch and SNS Love Blooms designed by Chris Dickinson. I heat embossed the image and sentiment in Silver and water colored the flowers and vase with SU Purely Pom.,Old Olive and Regal
Rose. The paper is the Eva collection by Basic Grey. SU cs, Organdy ribbon, Dew Drops and scallop ovals round out the design. I used dimensional to raise the cut out bouquet.
This card also meets yesterday's new Cupcake Craft Challenge which calls for 3 colors of cs, 2 embellishments and 1 ribbon. Thanks Ceal!
I am so happy that I am finding time to stamp again, been in all day while it is snowing.
Thanks for taking a look at my latest card, as always I appreciate your comments! The inspiration for the card comes from my collection of Cranberry Glass vases.

Cupcake Craft Challenge #23

This week has not been conducive for creating cards so I am very late on all challenges. With a new challenge coming out from Lauren tomorrow, I'm squeaking in under the deadline. The sketch was to make a square card, so I hope this meets the qualifications.I used SU cs and dsp that reminds me of spring, I used VersaMark on the white and dusted it with chalk to make a hint of the sage color although it's hard to see this, I added Antique Brass Hodgepdoge hardware, stamp from SU Best Yet, Prima flowers with pale green rhinstone center and a little Diamond Stickles on the petals, bird and flowers of the paper.

Yes, there is a big change in my Blog design and if anyone can help me, please feel free. I tried to get a new background because I'm tired of the winter one, but each time I tried, it was unsuccessful, frustrating to say the least! I'll keep on trying though.

Also I was give a blog award by Heather but haven't been able to pass it on yet. Forgive me Heather for not thanking you with an acknowledgement, it's been a rough week.

SNS DT Monday challenge #10

This week the wonderful SNS Design Team challenge is to make a card with a Cinderella theme. I chose to use my CB Cinderella embossing folder as a Valentine for my 6 yr. old granddaughter. The entire family are Disney lovers, so this fits right in. I learned a few lessons in making the card. First is that when I used a VersaMark pen on the edging and added Iridescent Ice embossing powder and heat gun, I didn't get the effect I was looking for. So I then went over it all with 2-way glue and sprinkled SU blue glitter all over it. This worked better, but I still don't like the look the VersaMark pen left...next time. My cs is SU Bashfull Blue also the ink for the lettering. The birds are Brocade Blue. I used SNS sets for the words and birds: Special Women, Love Blooms and Winter Fun w/ Gretchen and Sam. I know Ellie will like it even though it isn't pink!

SHINE Christian Crafters challenge

I belong to the PCP group SHINE and this is another of it's challenges, to make a sympathy card with a Bible verse on it. I love this SU set called "A Light unto my Path". To me the light spreading it rays from the lighthouse is a beacon of hope which comes from God. He sees us through life's difficult times and offers refuge.
I chose the shades of blue: Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze and Soft Sky because they go so well together and have a soothing quality.

Baja Delight

The SCS color challenge this week is Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze and Kraft. I couldn't get my head around the Kraft until I saw the card my friend Chrissy made on her blog
Creating with Chrissy.
She created a wonderful card with these colors. I decided to use Roxie's sketch211 and the stamp set SU Delight in Life. The main flower is two step stamping and I cut out the small flowers with the Baja base for the raised white fowers. Gems are added for accent. What do you think? I am trying to use some of my neglected stamp sets.

Belli Challenge #50, Cupcake Craft Challenge #22 and Color Challenge on PCP

Monday's Cupcake Craft Challenge #22 http://cupcakecraftchallenges.blogspot.com/ provided the sketch, Chissy's Belli Challenge http://chrissyd723.blogspot.com/ today is the inspiration for the card. we are to use an old or never used stamp set. I have so many to choose from, you know the ones you buy because you just have to have them at the time! I have oh so many that never see ink and am trying to use more of them. This stamp set is called Party Cupcakes (I think), I do know it is made by InqueBoutique. the CS and ink is SU and the patterened paper is Baic Grey Cupcake Collection Pad, just love their paper. Have bought this and several others from Sweet'nSassy Stamps. The colors coordinate with Ashley Bowen's weekly color challenge on PCP. Gemstones and a slide round out the details.

This card was made for a few challenges on SCS, Monday's technique challenge which was Tacky Glitter and Friday's limited supplies which called for red/shades of red and hearts. I used Diana's sketch from PCP sketch challenge yesterday. Lots of fun with thisbut oh the mess even with being so careful and using my tray to catch the excess glitter! For some reason it wanted to settle glitter dust everywhere! Will be a big cleanup later today on my dining room table.
I used an old SU stamp "From the Heart" (just love it) and the words from SNS Hugs for Janessa, the paper is SU and the extra heart border stamp is unknown. I used the double sided tape to alternate red and silver glitter stripes, Marvy scallop hear punch cut out finishes the card, also used SU markers to color with. BTW, the scanner doesn't begin to pick up the sparkling glitter, it shines so much more in real life!

SNS Jan. Release Party Technique Challenge

Suzy's challenge is to use the Paper Tole technique which is to stamp an image 3 or more times, cut out parts of them and add in layers to give a 3D look. I chose SNS Sweet Dreams for the main image of the owl and branches which I stamped 3 times, colored and cut out then layered on the 1st image. I then punched out a heart fromt the white so that I could stamp the sentiment on the cs base so that it would show through. I used a sentiment from SNS Hugs for Janessa to complete the thought.I finished the card with dsp and ribbon. My ink colors were painted with a blender pen: Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Red Riding Hood, Going Gray, Basic Gray and Pretty in Pink. I used glue dots for the layering.

Grand Elegance: Lauren's Cupcake Craft Challenge

This is my 1st Cupcake Craft Challenge entry. Lauren's DT challenge is to use glitter, a little or a lot. On this I figure a little goes a long way! Some friends got together and my SU demo hadn't used Grand Soiree yet so we decided to make a few cards with it. I used SU Basic Black, Whisper White and Pink Pirouette cs, dsp, sheer black ribbon, pearls and of course GLITTER for accent! The image is stamped in Versa Mark and heat embossed with Black. I used Silver Stickles on part of the chandelier and pink Stickles to accent the flames on the candles.

Here is the link to the Card Positioning Challenge sponsored by Sweet'nSassy Stamps and the Blog Candy they are offering this week. SnS DT Monday challenge uses the same sketch so I combined it for both challenges as well as Chrissy's Belli Challenge which is use a new or never been used stamp. I chose SNS Encouragement for my Hope card and a Bible stamp by Inkadinkado which has never seen ink. I heat embossed in white and colored with SU markers for accent and also added pearls. The cs is SU and dsp is Basic Grey Euphoria collection. You can find Chris' Belli challenge at her blog www.chrissyd723.blogspot.com and on Paper Craft Planet under her CBC group as well as SNS. Ialso made this for SHINE Christian Crafters on PCP.

More Release Party challenges

I made another card using Courtney's sketch, this one is for Sarah's color challenge to use black, grey, pink, white and red. My image is SNSS's Cozy Feathered Friends designed by Korin Sutherland. I added some Stickles for accent on the bird's scarf, bib and ear muff's I also added CM Silver Shimmer paper under the heart, Dew Drops and ribbon. I am slowly working on challenges for the week, time is not on my side lately.
I still have Suzy's challenge to make which for me will be the most difficult.

SNS Release Party Sketch Challenge

Courtney's sketch is the basis for this card. I used SNS Warm Up and Hugs for Janessa stamp sets both designed by Korin Sutherland. Cardstock and ink are SU, Silver Pen from Creative Memories for detail, SU hardware and Basic Grey Urban Prairie patterned paper. Warm Up is a great set featuring tea, coffee and cocoa and all the accessories. The words of friendship make you feel warm and cozy, they "warm your heart"!
